CEO & President

Andrew Rush is president of Silicon Valley-based Made In Space, Inc. He oversees the operations, business development, and strategy of Made In Space as it continues to push boundaries at the forefront of in-space manufacturing, 3D printing in space, at sea, and in other extreme environments, and space colonization-related technologies.

Previously, Andrew was an intellectual property attorney. He was one of the few intellectual property lawyers nationally with established industry specializations in aerospace and additive manufacturing. While in private practice, he was named partner before the age of 30 and became involved with Made In Space as General Counsel and manager of the company’s intellectual property portfolio.

Andrew has also worked with Masten Space Systems. Before becoming an attorney, he was a research assistant in a solid state physics laboratory.

Andrew holds a B.S. in physics and a J.D. from Stetson University.

Jason Dunn

Jason Dunn - body-small

Chief Technology Officer

By training, Jason is a rocket scientist holding two degrees in aerospace engineering. At heart, he is an entrepreneur. In 2008, Jason co-founded Earthrise-Space, Inc., which spun off the Omega Envoy Project—the first and only student-formed and led team competing in the Google Lunar XPRIZE. He believes that within our lifetime we will have the opportunity to make our species multi-planetary. That the people alive today will have the incredible power to quite literally “back up humanity.” Such an awesome realization, that Jason has chosen to commit his life towards making sure that this happens. He strongly believes that by learning how to colonize space we will simultaneously solve many more of Humanity’s “Grand Challenges” here on Earth.

Jason graduated from the University of Central Florida in 2009, where he developed new methods for enabling space based solar power, hypersonic single stage to orbit vehicles, and extremely efficient turbine jet engines. He then went on to graduate from Singularity University, where he focused attention on leveraging exponentially accelerating technologies to change the paradigm of space exploration. Jason is a Heinlein Scholar, Space Frontier Foundation Advocate, and a proud SEDS alumnus.

Michael Snyder

Mike Snyder - Lead Engineer, Head of R&D

Chief Engineer

Mike is the Principal Investigator for two NASA funded technological demonstrations of additive manufacturing. The 3D Print Experiment launches to the ISS in 2014 and the AMF, a long-term additive manufacturing facility, is estimated for 2015.

Mike is the Acting Assistant Secretary of the National Space Society and is the current secretary of AIAA’s Space Colonization Technical Committee, and a member since 2009. In 2011 he received his Master of Science in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from Ohio State University. During college he started Schuder Technologies to work on space power systems, planetary rovers capable of prolonged exploration and green energy concepts based on developed space systems.

His professional resume includes developmental work on multiple International Space Station payloads. He has designed or participated in the developmental testing and flight verification for six payloads to the ISS (flown aboard the ULF7, ULF5, HTV-2 and HTV-3 missions). He has published over a dozen technical papers and presented concepts for advanced space and Earth systems to international audiences. His motivation to help mankind explore and colonize space is accomplished through his daily work at Made In Space and from his public outreach and engagement activities.
