Our goal: radically change the way we do space missions today by building everything you need for space, in space.

Among many other projects, Made In Space has partnered with NASA to launch the first 3D printer to the International Space Station in 2014.

Qualifications:

+ B.S. Degree in Aerospace, Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering or similar discipline
+ 2+ years of hands-on manufacturing, fabrication, assembly, and/or testing experience (internship experience can supplement for the required industry experience)
+ Demonstrated software knowledge in Autodesk Inventor/Simulation suite (or equivalent), FEA and CFD background
+ Background in hardware design and assembly
+ Demonstrated use of machinery (CNC, Mill, Lathe, etc.)
+ Knowledge and demonstrated use of 3D printing technology a very big plus
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills
+ Must be a “U.S. person” as defined by the ITAR (22 CFR §120.15)

Preferred Skills and Experience:

+ M.S. Degree in Aerospace, Manufacturing, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or similar discipline
+ Experience with spacecraft and/or aircraft structural assemblies
+ Machine shop experience a plus
+ Process development, facility and line layouts
+ Experience with Design for Manufacture and Assembly
+ Knowledge of metallic or composite manufacturing processes such as machining, welding, drilling, sheet metal forming, and stamping
