With a challenge by Singularity University to impact a billion people in 10 years, MADE IN SPACE, Inc. was formed in the summer of 2010. The goal: radically change the way we do space missions today by building everything you need for space, in space.
MADE IN SPACE has come a long way since then. With over a dozen people working on the company, we are working at an every-increasing speed towards building the first objects ever manufactured off planet Earth.

At Made in Space, we believe that space missions do not have to be overly complicated, expensive, and drawn out over multiple years. In a world where on-demand manufacturing with 3D printing is becoming a reality, it only makes sense to use this technology to push humanity to greater heights than ever before.
Do you love space? Are you an avid tinkerer and builder? A 3D printing geek? Tech-savvy? A voracious learner? Are you the smartest person you know?
If so, we want you on the MADE IN SPACE Team! We’re looking for enthusiastic, inspired, creative people to join us as we help create the first off-world building platform. Work with the brightest of your peers to develop new products, write innovative code, design and build new technologies.
Still in school? Not a problem. We’re always looking to bring in bright new talent to our internship program. We currently offer unpaid and paid internships for work experience or college credit, and a successful internship could lead to a part- or full-time position at Made in Space.

The biggest benefit of working with MADE IN SPACE is flexibility — your ideas and creativity are expected to flow into execution, and not die before they hit the launch pad. If that’s not enough, we also offer:
+ The best location. Located at the heart of Silicon Valley and based at NASA Ames Research Center, Made in Space is surrounded by all things digital. That means there are plenty of get-togethers for you to meet like-minded individuals. PLUS … Are you a nature lover? Hiking and bike trails through the nearby Redwood forest. Want to go skiing through the mountains? There’s Lake Tahoe and other great California mountains only 3 hours away. Want to beat the heat during the summer? Santa cruz beach is roughly a half-hour away.
+ Work towards building the space future. Our goal is audacious. We’re not just another space company nor just another space mission. We’re trying to transform the way we do business in space by actually doing it in space — leading to space missions that are more affordable and on-demand.
+ The start-up mentality. At Made in Space, every day is different. We have a small team of focused individuals, and this leads to multiple new and exciting challenges to tackle every day.
+ A fun environment. We expect you to laugh out loud, at least once a day. Like, it’s mandatory.
+ A chance to be creative. We don’t stifle creativity — we foster it. Made in Space runs on the collective creativity of each talented individual on the team.
+ Company outings. Come and get to know your co-workers.
+ A team as smart as you are. We only accept employees of the highest caliber who can enhance Made in Space’s product offering and brand image. But we don’t equate raw talent with experience, and we value talented individuals who are eager to learn and enhance their natural abilities, whether in engineering, design, 3D printing, or other fields.
+ Work with future technologies in the present. Made in Space has the future at its core. We develop and work with fast-growing technologies such as 3D printing, and figure out how these technologies can apply to transforming not only space missions, but also people’s lives down here on Earth.
