Aaron Kemmer

A serial entrepreneur and advisor, Mr. Kemmer co-founded Made In Space when Singularity University offered the challenge of creating a project that would affect 1 billion people. Aaron’s belief is that o`ff-world manufacturing will dramatically change the way we look at space exploration, commercialization and mission design today. He has worked with several startup companies, including Heritage Cross, SUpost, Movis and YouTip. Aaron is an alumnus from the University of Florida and Singularity University and served as the Team Project Advisor for Singularity University and the Business Plan Advisor for New Space in 2012.

Aaron’s publications include “3D Printing in Space: Enabling New Markets and Accelerating the Growth of Orbital Infrastructure,” which was featured at NASA’s Space Studies Institute 14th Space Manufacturing Conference in October 2010.

Jason Dunn

By training, Jason is a rocket scientist with a background in aerospace engineering. At heart, he is an entrepreneur. In 2008, Jason founded Earthrise-Space, Inc., which spun off the Omega Envoy Project—the first and only student-formed and led team competing in the Google Lunar XPRIZE.

A graduate of the University of Central Florida and Singularity University, Jason founded Made In Space to enable in-space manufacturing. Jason’s life goal is to help settle the space frontier.

Michael Chen

A software architect, entrepreneur and relentless proponent of human space colonization, Mike founded his first company in 2002. Since then, he has been instrumental in founding, building and growing numerous successful ventures in a wide range of vertical markets.

Mike graduated from Oberlin College in 2009, where he received high honors for his thesis research on human consciousness. A graduate of Singularity University, member of the Phi Beta Kappa Society and AutoDesk Scholar-in-Residence, Mike co-founded Made In Space to push the envelope of human space exploration and cause a paradigm shift in the way we think about humanity’s place in the universe.

Michael is the Principal Investigator for two NASA funded technological demonstrations of additive manufacturing. The 3D Print Experiment launches to the ISS in 2014 and the AMF, a long-term additive manufacturing facility, is estimated for 2015.

Michael is the Acting Assistant Secretary of the National Space Society and is the current secretary of AIAA’s Space Colonization Technical Committee, and a member since 2009. In 2011 he received his Master of Science in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from Ohio State University. During college he started Schuder Technologies to work on space power systems, planetary rovers capable of prolonged exploration and green energy concepts based on developed space systems.

His professional resume includes developmental work on multiple International Space Station payloads. He has designed or participated in the developmental testing and flight verification for six payloads to the ISS (flown aboard the ULF7, ULF5, HTV-2 and HTV-3 missions). He has published over a dozen technical papers and presented concepts for advanced space and Earth systems to international audiences. His motivation to help mankind explore and colonize space is accomplished through his daily work at Made In Space and from his public outreach and engagement activities.
